2020 A Landmark Vision
Saturday, January 25, 2020
The Guild and Junior Guild of Family Service of Greensboro held their annual Big Hair Ball Jan. 25 at Grandover Resort and Spa. The event featured 51 fashion models with the help of more than 100 local designers, hair stylists and make-up artists. The theme of this year’s event was “2020: A Landmark Vision.”
The event included a cocktail reception with a silent auction followed by a runway fashion show featuring large hairdos and outré fashions. Each ensemble was inspired by a sponsor, corporate or individual, as well as the event theme of highlighting famous landmarks from around the world.
Presenting sponsors for the Big Hair Ball were the Lenny Peters Foundation and Bethany Medical Center, Woodruff Family Law Group and ValuePointe.biz.
Dr. Lenny Peters was this year’s honorary chairman.
“I am proud of the dedication, hard work and collaboration of our corporate model sponsors, local designers, and our junior guild and guild volunteers,” said Guild of Family Service of Greensboro President Amy Paul.
“Money raised from this amazing event will go toward helping families in crisis served by Family Service of the Piedmont.”
Proceeds from the fundraiser support local programs of Family Service of the Piedmont in Greensboro, the largest private nonprofit agency of its kind in Guilford County serving more than 19,000 children and adults each year. Family Service addresses issues of domestic violence, child abuse, mental health and
financial stability.
