Hurricane Matthew Leads to Beautiful Wedding Photography
October 8, 2016. Cary, North Carolina.
Hurricane Matthew blew into North Carolina causing major damage, knocking out Power, and canceling many events the first weekend of October 2016. Two events that were not cancelled were the NC State-Notre Dame football game and the Yates wedding in Cary.
In town for a family gathering to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of Carter-Finley Stadium, #CF50, we were staying at the Mayton Inn in Cary. 40 mile an hour winds and hard rain rain, drove my wife (and most of her family) back to the hotel after the first quarter Carter Family recognition. The boys and I stayed to see the Wolfpack beat the Irish.
In addition to the Carter Family reception that evening, the Mayton Inn was hosting the wedding of Brenda and Randy. Power was out all over Raleigh and Cary, but not at the Mayton. The hired photographer for the wedding canceled (it was raining). The gracious staff of the Mayton, learning of the dilemma, contacted Natalie, just after her hot shower, hot toddy, as she was lounging in her luxurious Mayton Robe.
Natalie walked down the hall to Brenda's room. She spent and an hour or so with Yates family and guests and documented a beautiful couple on their wedding day. She was also on time for the Carter Party she was hosting.
